The world-famous White Garden at Sissinghurst in England contains not only all shades of white flowers and gray foliage — it has a surprising number of plants that are actually light pastels. Here are some white or nearly white flowers that will be at the sale.

2007 was the first year that I experienced your sale and I purchased what turned out to be an annual that I would love to find again. Unfortunately I do not remember the name. The plant bushed out at the base and had spikes with a “globe” white flower at the top that continued to bloom all summer. As the “spike” continued to grow the bottom petals of the flower dropped off. By the end of the summer the spike part of the plant was approximately 5 foot tall. If anyone has any idea what this might be I would love to hear from you.
Kathy,
You say it turned out to be an annual. Do you remember if it was in the annual section, or did you purchase it as a perennial but it hasn’t come up this year?
Pat
I honestly can’t remember if is was in the annual section or not. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of it and I have had other people ask me about it for their gardens.
Kathy
Kathy,
When you say globe-like white flower, do you mean a globe like the one in this image:

Or more like this:

I know that last one is not very globe like, but it does have spikes…
