So many plants, so little time!
Thousands of people made their way through the sale, buying everything from ageratum to zebra plant.
After a long wait, the blueberries finally arrived late in the afternoon, thanks to the heroic efforts of the American Blueberry Company. Varieties: Northland, Chippewa, Polaris and Tom Cat. $15.00 each, and they can be found in the fruit section, which is outside within the fence at the east end of the building.
And, of course, there were some great homemade carts in use!

Just one comment: It was VERY chaotic the first hour and a half at the sale. Why weren’t the wristband groups staggered by time? Even staggering each group by 2-3 minutes from the start would have made a difference.
Thanks, Suzi. I will pass that on to the coordinator of line wrangling.
Some of the carts I would love to have, they are great, others however are not so great. My husband helped a woman whose cart fell apart on her in the first 1/2 hour of the sale and I got my ankle clipped by a sled hurrying past me (after check-out!) It drew blood & bruised but the person did not stop or even notice. I thought sleds were not allowed anymore. Could you add something to the catalog about making sure the homemade carts are sturdy and please, please no sleds.
The sale was fun but a tad stressful. I was at the sale on Friday and I do think that too many people were in the grandstand at one time…you could barely navigate through the perrenials and annuals. I preferred the layout last year - the perrenials were totally separated from the annuals. Therefore people like me who do not need annuals don’t have to mix in with their traffic. Thanks for the opportunity to comment.
Sarah: I’m so sorry you were cut by a sled! You’re right that sleds are not allowed. We will redouble our efforts to exclude them at the entry, and continue to include info on the ban with the catalog. I will make a note to add the prohibition to the little “wagon” ad we run in the catalog, too. And to make a new ad to say homemade carts should be sturdy.
Patti: We will be tweaking the layout, as we always do. I did note that the center aisle between perennials and annuals was particularly congested. Perhaps we can make the aisle wider, at least.

The hole things was great, just I had the worst duty of all to water plants all day long
Mike,
We plan to have a new system for watering at next year’s sale. So while it will still be some work, we hope it will work better and be more efficient.
