About Tiny Tortuga

Bronzy dark green leaves. Bred in the Netherlands, it resembles a smaller version of Hot Lips. "Tortuga" means “turtle" or "tortoise” in Spanish.

There’s a Greek myth about this flower’s genus name, Chelone. A nymph named Chelone replied to an invitation to the wedding of Zeus and Hera by saying she’d rather stay home. She was turned into a turtle (“khelônê” in Greek) so that she’d have to carry her house on her back and stay home forever.
