Small tree with four seasons of interest, starting with 3–4" white bracts that surround a tiny flower ball in spring. Summer brings red raspberry-like fruits, followed by brilliant red to burgundy fall foliage, and then textured brown and gray bark in winter. Berries are edible, tasting like ripe persimmons.
Vase-shaped, becoming more horizontal and tiered with age. Protected location recommended. Experimental here—let us know how it does.
