About Bee's Knees
Colorfast bright pastel yellow with lighter edges.
“Bee’s knees” in 1920s slang means excellent, wonderful, the best. Like its synonym, cat’s pyjamas, it's also the name of a cocktail (gin, honey, lemon, and orange juice). Other such nonsense terms for things that are superlative are elephant’s adenoids, ant’s pants, tiger’s spots, leopard’s stripes, bullfrog’s beard, caterpillar’s kimono, monkey’s eyebrows, gnat’s elbows, eel’s ankle, sardine’s whiskers, pig’s wings.
