About Aphrodite
Dense, multi-stemmed shrub that can be shaped into a small tree. Deep red 4" waterlily-shaped flowers all summer, and yellow leaves in the fall. Blooms on old and new wood. All parts of the plant are fragrant, smelling of pineapple, apple, and bubblegum, although fragrance varies from year to year. Hybrid of the West Coast C. occidentalis and an Asian species. Very deer-resistant.
