Bright yellow 2–3” flowers with red-orange centers on mostly red stems. Purple-red foliage in spring. Deadheading will prolong bloom from midsummer into fall. Cultivar.

Easy to grow. Known as one of the best "clay busters," breaking up heavy clay soils. July–September bloom. Not a true sunflower.
