About Jane

Blooms late in the spring (avoiding frosts), then intermittently through summer and into early fall. Tulip-shaped flowers are deep pink to purple on the outside and pure white inside. Light fragrance. Grows best in full morning sun and part shade in the afternoon.

These northern-hardy magnolias need rich, well-drained soil. Most varieties bloom in early to mid-spring, with leaves emerging after flowers fade. Water frequently in hot, dry weather.
