About Consort

Long clusters of medium-sized, sweet-tart black fruits. Orange-red foliage in fall. Not self-fruitful, needs a second black currant variety for cross-pollination.

About Currant

White flowers followed by fruits in clusters by midsummer. The round fruit is good for jellies, wines, and preserves. For the most fruit production, remove any stems that are more than four years old. These varieties are resistant to white pine blister rust.
