About Wealthy

Heirloom from the 1860s with pink flowers in spring, yellow fruit striped with red, ripening in September. All-purpose apple, more sweet than tart, good for eating, cooking, drying, and cider. One of the first American apples to be grown commercially, it is a parent of the Haralson. Named for the wife of the breeder and not how much money it will make you. Semi-dwarf rootstock, either M7 or M106.

About Apple

Beautiful, fragrant spring flowers and fall fruit. Apples require another variety for pollenizing, but apple or crabapple trees are usually nearby in most areas.
